MINUTES FOR MONS DRACONIS
11/2/08 MEETING

HELD AT 3:30 P.M. AT COCO’S ON UNIVERSITY IN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE .

There were twenty two (22) members of the populace in attendance.

OFFICER’S REPORTS:

EXCHEQUER:  No report from Maridonna, but questions will be raised in the course of the meeting.  Fearghus stated that there is about ### --> [Amount edited - Contact Canton Seneschal or Exchequer for further details] in our account at this time.

MARSHALL :  Ranulfr has asked for an inventory of equipment.

A&S:  Jocelyn is working on ideas for projects to coincide with baronial activities.

CONSTABLE:  No activity to report.

LISTS:  Kathleen is in the process of learning how to do lists.

HERALD:  Marie resigned and Martin will fill the officer position.

OLD BUSINESS:  None

NEW BUSINESS:

Fearghus asked Ian if he wanted to fulfill the roll of Chiergeon at the meetings, and asked Bart if he would like to take on the officer’s position of Chatelaine.  No commitment from either.

Fearghus suggested that we make a canton herald tabard.  Her Excellency will speak to Juliana about making one.

Canton funds are to be kept at the baronial level for now.

The Kingdom Calendar is fairly full, but Egill got another date for the Barony of 4/11/09.  Per Egill, the barony can give us the date of 2/28/09 for our anniversary, and move the St. Geronimi Spring Tourney to 4/11/09.  Marie and Bart will be the event stewards.  Marie asked for suggestions from the canton for a “title” for this event.  It was agreed that the event will be held at Hunt Park .

Jocelyn made a suggestion that we autocrat a Dreiburgen Anniversary with an “all souls” theme.

Valdis is one of the editors of the Caid Wiki, and has invited everyone to create a page under the populace section.  She will post the link to the Mons Draconis page.

Jocelyn would like to make business cards for potential new members.  There was a concern that this may be a corporate problem, but Egill said that there will not be a problem with it, as long as we do not include any personal information, such  as addresses and phone numbers.  Also, Kathleen and Fearghus have a about 11 newcomer’s handbooks.

Marie will contact Muirghein about adding people to the Mons Draconis list.

There was extensive discussion regarding Canton and Baronial projects as follows:

CANTON PROJECTS:  Ther are 49 eric poles that have rusted.  Egill suggested a process on how to rid the poles of the rust.  Ranulfr has offered his backyard to soak the poles, then paint them.  His Excellency has also suggested that we may be able to do it at armory at House Tannenberg, but there was concern as to the amount of room available for such a project there.  Fearghus would like the poles to be finished by our 2/28/09 event.

The canton has eric flags that need replacing.  Jocelyn and Her Excellency have the fabric that they will donate.  Marie informed us of the existing designs.  One is a “fish hook,” and the second one is a “demi-wyvern.”  Bart suggested that the flags have different field colors for different sections of the eric.  Egill pointed out that they cannot be at such a size that they would interfere with the fighters.

Fearghus would like for each of the members to have a banner with their device on it.  We also discussed making a bigger banner for Mons Draconis.

BARONIAL A&S PROJECTS:

Jocelyn has asked for submittal of devices from those who bought a dag on Little White so that she can get that project completed.  Kitta has agreed to help paint the devices should Jocelyn need the help.

Another Baronial project idea is to refurbish the stakes for Big Blue, and Jocelyn mentioned that we can work on a a largesse project, making “card holders.”

Our next Canton meeting will be held at Coco’s on University in the City of Riverside on Sunday, December 7, 2009 at 3:30 P.M.
