Canton of Mons Draconis
May, AS XXXIV
Call to Order: At 7:35
In Attendance: Lady Marie, Lady Bronwen, Lord Carolus, Baron Jonas, Hrothbeorht
Matheus, Michelle of Gyldenholt, THL Robynne, Baroness Elizabeth, Lady Valynde,
Lady Christina, Lady Rhiannon, Lord Conan, and Thomasina del Thunytes.
Minutes: Copies of last month's minutes were made available
to those assembled. A copy has also been sent to our Webmistress.
Officer Reports
- Seneschal
- Dreiburgen News is available, see me, anyone who wants it mailed, see me
after the meeting.
- Baronial council next month will be at Shakey's Pizza in Riverside again,
with altered seating arrangements, etc. It's on Iowa just north of
University, 7pm. Lady Elana, our Baronial Seneschal would like to have as
many of the populace who can attend, do so. This is OUR BARONY! She needs
everyone's input!
- I have received a check for $148.75 from the Estrella War, thank you
Baroness Ulrike who gave so unselfishly of your time to our Canton!
- Herald
- Next College of Heralds meeting is this Sunday In Upland, the next after
this is June 6. There will not be a Baronial Heraldic Social on Memorial
day! The Baronial Herald is working on setting a fixed date for the
Consultation night.
- An excellent web page has been found at

that is good for designing arms/devices.
- Marshal - Canton anniversary had some wonderful fighting,
We had 14 heavy fighters, they split up into 2 teams. Baron Jonas not only
pinch-hit for us as court herald, but was captain of the winning melee team.
BJ: "Does that mean I'm your champion now?" "I guess it
does!" Baron Camron came up and brought his combat crossbows, there was
some wonderful combat archery as well as exceptional archery on Sunday.
Gyldenholt moved their archery practice to our tourney, and won!
- Arts and Sciences
- A&S this Sunday, with archery, dinner and who knows what. In July
the A&S day will be a class in Reiku pottery! Not foodware!
- There is now a scriptorium for the Barony which meets on the 2nd and 4th
Mondays of the month at the home of Master James.
- Also at his home this coming Wednesday will be a class on entering
Pentathalon taught by Mistress Maria Theresa, the autocrat of
Penthalon.
- Chatelaine - Included in Van Avery report
- Exchequer - not present
Event Stewards
- Anniversary: Anniversary was a blast, not as many attended as we had hoped,
but the attendees really enjoyed themselves and the prizes! Lady Christina
received her Tower of Dreiburgen from His Excellency, Herself was unable to
attend. Baroness Ulrike provided a wonderful lunch for His Excellency. On
Saturday night, several people from the Ren Faire came down and partied with
us, sharing the ambiance and learning more about the SCA.
- Van Avery Demo: Will be June 5, everyone is urged to make this a great show
for these kids, they work very hard on this event, the whole school turns out.
This is also our main source of revenue for the year!
Old Business - Baroness Ulrike urged all to volunteer for
Baronial anniversary in October. There are many jobs left, come one come
all!
The Senschal of the College of Saint Geronimus addressed the members,
outlining certain snags they have run into. The Canton is taking their request
for support under serious advisement, and offered some help and information
gleaned from our experiences. We wish them well.
